Community Access Programme

The Community Access Programme starts from 5 January 2026 and offers free access to NPBA classes. The programme supports people facing poverty or financial pressure, where the cost of exercise would otherwise be a barrier to taking part. It also supports people whose mental health is affected by financial instability, as well as those who feel isolated because of their situation. This support is funded through the Calderdale Resilience Fund, which helps people on low incomes and households under financial pressure.

What the Community Access Programme offers:

8 weeks of free access to NPBA classes
Up to 2 classes per week
A chance to try different sessions and find what feels right for you

About Northern Powerhouse Boxing Academy:

NPBA is a friendly, community-run gym in Hebden Bridge.
We are not a typical gym.

Many people who come to NPBA are new to exercise, feel nervous about gyms, are returning after illness, injury or a tough time, or are looking for a welcoming place to move and feel better.

Our coaches are kind, patient and experienced in supporting people who feel unsure or anxious at first.
